Elim Church

What an amazing day! We now have our entire team of 92 in Pisek. We received the warmest of welcomes from the members of Elim Church. We sang together and following the message from the pastor we received Communion. Then we were treated to a potluck meal. The hospitality has been wonderful.

Monday we will begin working in the community. English-speaking camps will start tomorrow. The youth and their parents are very open to learning English which can also be an opportunity to talk about our faith. We learned that in this town of about 30,000 people about 1% (300 people or less) consider themselves to be Christians. There is a lot of opportunity to witness and talk about living for Christ.

A evening concert of Gospel music will be presented in a park here in the city. It is free and open to the public. Please pray that it will be a time for the Lord to move in the hearts of people and that we would lift up the name of the one whose name is above every name - JESUS! We will let you know tomorrow how it turns out.

P.S. Thanks for posting your comments. It is such an encouragement to us to know that many of you are following us via this blog. Keep them coming.

  5. Enjoying sharing this time with you. Phones set for a word of prayer as you practice at 8am Denver time and have your Pisek concert in the park at 10:30am Denver time. Specifically praying that the fog holds off and that the park will be filled with hungry hearts open for a mighty movement of the Spirit! May many lives be changed - including your own. Love ya all! 12. I wish I was there with everyone! It's pretty quiet in the office today... You've all been gone for only a few short days and you're already missed!

I pray that the Lord uses all of you today through sharing our language to communicate Christ!

    Looking forward to another update,

  14. My parents and I went to the 9 am service to see the recording. I don't believe there were any shots of the musicians (my husband plays the bass) so I didn't get the opp to see him...but I heard him...and boy did my heart leap!
I'm praying for you all and hear that God is doing wonderful things with and through you! Continue to take care of my hubby! He is missed!
